Each January, a great number of Latin students from Brookfield Academy take part in the annual WJCL State Convention held in Madison. BRookfield academy has taken 1st place overall in HOW many state conventions? Well...WE lost count.

The WJCL offers both graphic and creative art competitions in an abundance of categories in order to showcase delegates' artistic talent in all of it's different forms.

A total of 12 academic exams are offered over two sessions to test your knowledge of the languages and cultures of
ancient Greece and Rome

CERTAMEN
a high-speed buzzer game played by teams of four. Questions fall into one of four catoegories: Latin Language, Roman History & Culture, Classical Mythology, and in the Advanced Division, Latin Literature.

Before the first two General Assemblies, each school's delegation will convene and enter the assembly hall decked out in crazy costumes, screaming weird cheers in Latin at the tops of their lungs. Fueled by mob-mentality, you and your fellow BA JCLers will scream at the top of your lungs and in general, just have a lot of fun. By the end of Convention, many of our fabulous delegates have, gladly, lost their voices for the sake of spirit victory.
