SPIRIT

Before each General Assembly (GA), state delegations will convene at their fellowship rooms and distribute props for spirit.

Fueled by mob-mentality, you and your fellow JCLers will scream at the top of you lungs and in general just have a lot of fun. By the end of the week, almost everyone has lost their voices.

GENERAL
ASSEMBLIES

During these assemblies, announcements are made, candidates give speeches, NJCL officers will deliver reports, and different speakers from across the country will address the NJCL. Also, the results for a lot of non-convention contests will be announced

LUDI-LUDI-LUDI

Another big part of National Convention are the ludi, or games. Wisconsin is even known as "the LUDI State" by some because of our great performance and our iconic red Ludi jerseys. The Convention typically offers singular events track, field, marathon, and swimming, with team events in basketball, soccer, volleyball, and Ultimate Frisbee. Teams are chosen during fellowships.

CERTAMEN

Certamen is a Jeopardy-style team quiz bowl in which players from across the country buzz in against each other for the chance to answer questions about Latin Language and Literature, Roman History, and Classical Mythology.

In order to play Certamen at nationals, one must attend WJCL-sanctioned tryouts over the summer. Teams will be picked before nationals.

testing

The NJCL offers about twenty different tests that you can take, ranging from geography to Classical Greek. While the tests may seem daunting, it is actually very easy to place on some of the more obscure ones with some studying.
